Description
Students will learn about the events that led to the Texas Revolution by completing this multi-task resource. There are 3 pages of an overview for students to read and 32 questions to answer (with optional graphic organizers). They will then read, analyze, and compare and contrast excerpts from letters written by Stephen Austin and General de Cos in 1835. If time allows, they can complete a map, image analysis, timeline, and divided figure activity. A brief teacher information page and the answers are included. This could work for a sub!
The topics covered include:
--Centralists Come to Power, the Nacogdoches Land Grant
--The Fredonian Rebellion, Mier y Teran Report, Slavery
--Law of Apr 6, 1830, Events at Anahuac
