Description

Students will review the people, ideas, and key vocabulary from Imperialism by mixing and matching 35 terms to their images and identifications, answering 8 review questions. Students create their own images for 6 terms (a written example is included). This includes a page of teacher instructions and the answers where appropriate.

Sample questions include:
--Summarize the events leading to the Sepoy Rebellion, and its outcome.
--Identify the figures in this political cartoon, and summarize what is happening. Which country is missing and why do you think it is missing? Why are the figures placed where they are? Write a sample dialogue of at least 12 exchanges the figures might have been exchanging (balance creativity with historical accuracy).
--Compare and contrast the positives and negatives for both Europeans and people in Africa using these before and after imperialism/colonialism maps. Write at least 2 points for each point of view for each map. Predict what types of problems will come down the road for all parties involved when various groups on the African continent begin demanding independence.
