Description
This science lesson and STEM activity is an introduction to force and motion. Students will be introduced to the vocabulary "force," "motion," and "speed," and will be using a hands on approach throughout the majority of the lesson.
This is a full lesson which includes the standards, materials, review, teacher input, independent practice, and closure, which includes an exit ticket. There are five centers/stations in this activity:
- Ramp experiment
- Friction ramp
- Writing about force and motion
- Friction rub
- Online game
The lesson and activity should take about one hour, depending on your class size, but can easily be taught over multiple days! It incorporates collaborative group work, explorative learning, and writing about learning. Your students will be pros at force, motion, and friction in no time!
