This resource includes five stations or centers with their answer keys.
Resource Includes:
Station 1 (SS6G5a): Passage over SS7G5a with a fill-in-the-blank worksheet and its answer key.
Station 2 (SS7G5a, SS7G5b): Map Coloring Activity over SS7G5a with answer key and Map Coloring Activity over SS7G5b with answer key
Station 3 (SS7G5a, SS7G5b): Board Game with game cards over both standards, answer keys, and map for reference – no dice needed! Students can play this game as a group, so provide them the answer keys. Have one student ask another the question on the game card and check his/her answer on the answer key. If a student answer correctly, he/she may move one space. If the student does not answer correctly, he/she may not move forward any spaces.
Station 4 (SS7G5a, SS7G5b): Mini-Research Activity with guided notes. Students will need access to the internet or other resources to find answers to the guided notes. The teacher can either assign the location to the students or the students can draw from the cards provided. There is also a summary writing prompt included in the guided notes packet to summarize their research.
Station 5 (SS7G5b): One-Pager Google Slides Activity. This would be a great “fast-finisher” assignment that students could work on no matter which station he/she was. A Google Slides template is included for students to create a “one-pager” of the various countries included in this standard. All nations are included in the template, so students can choose one and keep going as time allows. The teacher will need to assign this template via Google Classroom. Of course, this could also serve as another station all students rotate through.
