Description
This full-page worksheet for human anatomy and physiology students is about hemostasis, which is stopping blood flow, generally concerning an injury – aka the clotting process. The front side has a blend of fill-in-the-blank and short answer questions. I provided a word bank in the header for the fill-in-the-blank questions. The backside has a matching section where students will number the randomly listed steps of hemostasis. Finally, the lower half of the reverse has nine long numbered lines for the students to write out the assorted steps listed atop the page in the correct sequence. Studies show that writing out the answer helps with memory!
Key concepts and terms covered in this activity include the three phases of hemostasis (vascular, platelet, and coagulation), fibrin, fibrinogen, thrombin, prothrombin, vasoconstriction, platelet plug, prothrombin activator, vascular spasms, fibrin mesh clot, and hemostasis.
