Description
Turn Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs into an engaging, interactive lesson with Lost & Afraid!
Students begin by imagining they are stranded alone on a deserted island for 30 days. From a list of options, they choose just 15 items to bring with them—before they know the activity is connected to Maslow.
Next, use the included interactive Google Slides presentation to introduce the five levels of Maslow’s Hierarchy. Students build and color-code their own pyramid as they learn, apply the levels to real-world scenarios, and explore how the reason for choosing an item can affect where it belongs.
Finally, students return to their original island choices, categorize each item using their color-coded pyramid, and reflect on the needs that influenced their decisions.
