Description

Music Escape Room is a fun and interactive way for your students to practice reading note names. Your students will have 30 minutes to complete three puzzles. The first is decoding the instructions. It’s a little tricky because every letter from “A” to “G” has been replaced by its equivalent in musical notation. In the second puzzle, students search for eight unique puzzle pieces that are hidden somewhere around your classroom. Once they find all eight pieces, they must arrange them in ascending order to reveal the next clue. The third puzzle mixes music trivia and math. It’s great because there are multiple ways to solve it.

In addition to developing great teamwork skills, your students will practice:

1. reading note names in the treble clef

2. decoding simple messages

3. arranging treble clef notes in ascending order

4. answering music trivia questions

5. using deductive logic

6. adding single digit numbers

This is easy enough even a Sub or non music teacher could use it! Save it for a "rainy" day or when you have a Sub! Easy to use!

I really liked this activity. I love the idea of escape rooms so I thought this was great from the start. I appreciated that you had instruction for prep, during the game, and even a suggestion for after the game.

As a music teacher myself, I love the variety of activities included in this "escape room." I know kids will enjoy working on it. (Disclosure: I received a free copy in order to write this completely honest review.)
