President Herbert Hoover Activity

Students complete a 3 part activity to review President Hoover and his presidency. The first part has 5 questions to help students review factual parts of Hoover's time in office. In the second part of the activity students "interview" Hoover right after his inauguration (5 questions and answers), in the third part they conduct his last interview on his deathbed (5 questions and answers), and the last task is a bonus creative opportunity. An answer key is included where appropriate. This would work for a sub. 

Sample questions include: 
--Hoover believed in the American system of “rugged individualism.” Explain the meaning of that phrase and discuss the role that belief played in the choices Hoover made, or didn’t make, in battling the depression. 
--Explain the connection between the Bonus Army and Hoover. What impact, if any, did interactions between the two have on the duration of his presidency? 
--What is the most important item on your presidential agenda?
--What do you think will be your biggest challenge in achieving your goals?
--Do you have any regrets from your time in office?
