Description

Renaissance, Mannerist, & Baroque Art ESCAPE ROOM - Student Notes - Teacher Lesson Plan - AP Art History - Google Drive

Looking for a fun way to mix up your review activities with your class? Look no further - this escape room has you covered! My students LOVED competing against each other in this activity (and told me this was one of their favorite activities of the class).

In this escape room, students will attempt to recover a stolen artwork. This escape room comes with a variety of activities, including videos, crossword puzzles, multiple-choice questions, and pig-pen codes to crack. What's more, there are positive reinforcement messages throughout! When a student gets a question right, a summary recap of the correct answers is provided to reinforce student learning.

Have you ever attempted to teach an escape room, but the directions were confusing? Maybe you didn't realize how many different stations you had to print and ultimately forgot to print a crucial piece of the puzzle students needed to complete the escape room. I know my teacher friends and I have at one point or another. Let's stop that cycle of confusion with a self-grading Google Form. Students cannot go to the next station without getting the correct answer first. No station printing for you! (All you need to print are the student notes for students to write on as they complete the escape room).

The information in this escape room relates to the content material in the AP Art History Course and Exam Description, meaning that these stations are not just for "fun" but correlate to learning within the course. It is recommended that students use this escape room once they have completed their units of study on Renaissance, Mannerist, and Baroque art.

My fastest students were able to complete this in about thirty minutes, and the longest group took the entire class period. Your class may be faster or slower, depending on your learning environment.
