This middle school math activity is perfect for engaging your students in calculating a missing side in similar figures. I hope your students have as much fun with this activity as mine did!

In this self-checking activity, students answer questions as they receive instant feedback. In the game Missing”, students attempt to guess what part of the image went missing after correct content-related responses. Each correct response advances the game and advances the difficulty as more images pass between guesses. After solving the problem on a whiteboard, scratch paper, or the provided workspace, students type their final answer into the appropriate cell. If correct, the student receives immediate feedback as they reveal a green check mark, and the game advances.

In contrast, when students answer incorrectly, their answer turns red to let them know they should go back and revise their answer or seek help from the instructor.
