This 60 minute middle school US history lesson has a customized reading included and helps students answer the following questions:
• How are slavery, tobacco and cotton related economically and politically?
• Who was involved on a large scale (geographic areas) and on a small scale (people)?
• What caused this trade and what effect did it have? For this lesson students learn all about the Triangular Trade of slaves.
Once students have been provided background information they will be required to show they know by writing an essay.This lesson provides teachers with handouts and lesson script.
