Description

Students complete an interview activity to review President Roosevelt's presidency. They first answer 5 history based questions, then students "interview" Roosevelt right after his inauguration (5 questions and answers), then students conduct Roosevelt's last interview on his deathbed (6 questions and answers), and the last task is a bonus creative opportunity. An answer key is included where appropriate. This would work for a sub.

Sample questions include:
--Identify and explain (with one concrete example for each) the following areas of focus during Roosevelt’s time in office: trust busting, meatpacking plants, and conservation. Which of those 3 areas was most important for him to focus on at the time and why? Which was most important for America over the next 100 years and why?
--What was the purpose of the Panama Canal and how did it demonstrate the new role America was starting to take on the international world stage?
--What do you think will be your biggest challenge in achieving your goals?
--Given the opportunity to go back in time, would you have chosen to run for office again in 1912, why or why not?
