US History EOC Review Unscramble the Wars Activity

Can your students identify the years, President, causes, key events and impact of each of the major wars in modern US History? I know mind can at the time I teach them, but once the end of the year comes around, they need a little review!

In this activity, you cut up the following cards for each war and place them in baggies.

• Title of the War
• Years
• President(s) at that time
• Causes of the war
• Key events of that war
• Impact of that war

I recommend you putting students in groups of 2-4 for this activity. I also recommend you print each set (for each group) out on different colored card stock. This way, if I student drops a card, you know which one baggie it belongs in. Of course, laminate if you can before putting it in front of students.

How does this activity help you and your students?

Walk around your room as your students do this review. You will be able to see/hear where your students are having trouble remembering. When you start to hear similar trouble areas, take the last 5 minutes of your class and review that topic with them.
