Description

Students will analyze 20 documents (10 text and 10 images), answer 20 historical context questions, complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review the struggle for women's suffrage and the ratification of the 19th Amendment. There are 11 essay prompts for students to pick from but one allows for the class or teacher to make their own. The answers are included where appropriate and the initial analysis part would be great for a sub! ***Some of the sourcing is generalized so that students have to place it in the historical context/event themselves.***

Sample questions include:
--Re-write document 2 in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--Summarize the historical context of Document 3.
--Identify a cause and effect of Document 6.
--Explain the main point of Document 7 and how it relates to the fight for women’s suffrage.
--Explain how Document 9 could be interpreted by both sides of the suffrage for women debate.
--What academic phrase and which individual are most associated with Documents 12a and 12b?
--How does Document 16 use American history in defense of suffrage for women?
--Does Document 20 support or oppose women’s suffrage and why?
