Description

Students will analyze and compare and contrast 3 battle accounts from World War 1 (WWI, WW1): the Battle of the Somme, the Battle of Gallipoli, and the Battle of Jutland. There are 20 questions between the 3 accounts and this can be completed as an individual packet, divided into stations, or in student groups/pairs. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--How might his experience at war have been different than the Americans who were conscripted and sent overseas in 1917? How might his experiences have been similar?
--What could have been the turning point in the battle for Francis where it stopped being a “game” and why?
--Using evidence from the text, are there any benefits to fighting at sea compared to on land?
--Why do you think Britain finally withdrew from the battle?
--Explain the meaning of "gravity" in this particular context.
