Culper Spy Ring: Stations and Cipher Activity

Spies played a big role in the Revolutionary War, especially the Culper Spy Ring. This activity is the perfect companion activity when learning about the famous spy network!

This download includes 3 activities:

1. Cipher Warm Up - students will be challenged to solve 4 coded messages using a cipher. Answer Key included.
2. Stations Activity - students will visit 4 stations to learn about the Culper Spy Ring. Organizer and stations included!
3. Create Your Own Cipher - students will create their own cipher and coded message to George Washington. Sample Cipher included.

This activity gives the students a hands on approach to this exciting Revolutionary War topic and they will enjoy learning about the spy ring and trying to solve each other's coded messages.

I would recommend printing out this activity but it can also work digitally.
