Empress Wu: Hero or Villain

Empress Wu is the only female to have ever ruled in her own name in China. Hailing from the Tang dynasty, Empress Wu made some great positive strives for the Tang dynasty, but also got caught up in scandals - a couple even involving murder! In this activity, students will learn about Empress Wu and then decide for themselves whether history books should remember her as a hero or villain.

This is a great addition to your unit on Ancient China or lesson on the Tang and Song dynasties!
