Gilded Age Industrialism DBQ

Students will analyze 16 documents (6 are images), answer 16 historical context questions, complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review the industrial aspects of the Gilded Age (robber barons, monopolies, rise of labor unions). There are 9 prompts for students to choose from (one allows for the class or teacher to make one of their own). The answers are included where appropriate and the analysis part would be great for a sub!  ***Some of the sourcing is generalized so that students have to place it in the historical context/event themselves.***

Sample questions include:
--Summarize the historical context of Document 2 and identify its core purpose.
--Explain the relationship between industrialist and worker as per the point of view of document 4.
--How does document 6 connect to industrialism?
--What role did Gompers and the sentiments of Document 10 play in this era?
--Based on Document 11, does Lloyd agree with the direction industrialization is taking America, why or why not?
--Explain a cause and effect of Document 15.
