Gilded Age Immigration DBQ

Students will analyze 19 documents (10 are images), answer 19 historical context questions, complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review immigration (New Immigrants) during the Gilded Age. There are 9 prompts for students to choose from (one allows for the class or teacher to make one of their own). The answers are included where appropriate and the analysis part would be great for a sub!This DBQ has extra documents due to the nature of the prompts. ***Some of the sourcing is generalized so that students place it in the historical context/event themselves.*** 

Sample questions include:
--Identify the main point of Document 2.
--Does Document 5 support or oppose immigration to the United States, and why?
--Explain how, or why, Document 7 has the opposite point of view of Document 6.
--Who is portrayed in Document 9 and how does it connect to immigrants at this time?
--Explain how Document 15 portrays the relationship between American citizens and Irish immigrants.
--Which text based Document would the author(s) behind Document 17 most agree with and why?
