Melissa Aubuchon has taught World Geography, Ancient History and American History at the middle level and occasionally at the high school level in the suburbs of St. Louis and Chicago for 28 years. She earned her B.S. in Secondary Education-Social Science and M.A. in Instructional Processes-Staff Development. In 2008, she achieved National Board Professional Teaching Standards certification in Early Adolescence-History/Social Studies and achieved renewal certification in 2017. Earlier in her career, she was a national history trainer for twelve years for a national social studies company. Melissa lives with her husband, two daughters and two English Bulldogs. Her philosophy about teaching is an interactive social studies classroom is essential for student understanding and success.
