Narrative Writing Unit

This is meant to be a quarter's worth of writing work. Students are guided through all elements of creating a full length novel, in planning stages. Character maps, plot maps, vocabulary practice, research practice and analysis, setting practice, dialogue practice and more are all included. In a guided way, students write the first 10 pages of a novel or a 10 or more page short story based on their planning. All materials to guide students through activities and learning via powerpoint as well as handouts and readings are included in both editable and PDF formats. This unit should take a quarter of class time, depending on pacing. Units come in a zip file that will need to be extracted after download. All computers come with extraction programs.
