ELEMENTARY SPANISH FOR CHILDREN COLORS POSTERS FLASHCARDS These Spanish colors flashcards posters create an instant introduction to a range of colors in Spanish in your classroom. The flashcards / posters also give the learning environment a fabulous Spanish look and feel, promoting Spanish as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of the classroom. They introduce learners to colors in Spanish from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarize themselves with both the ‘look’ of Spanish words, and how sounds are represented in the written form.
The key colors are: aquamarine (blue-green); black; blue; brown (both marrón and pardo - I’ve also included castaño, as this is used to describe hair color and eyes for example, which are great topics to get learners talking in Spanish); cream (both beis and crema); green; grey; navy-blue; orange; bright pink; pink; purple; red; white; yellow.
It doesn’t matter if some of the colors don’t feature in your immediate or even longer-term learning plan: the posters provide learners with daily opportunities to engage with the written word in Spanish, to develop their recognition and recall of individual words, to identify cognates, and to begin to link spelling with sound in Spanish. Along the way, learners can suggest other colors and words to add to the display.
Try these freebies - they're great for speaking prompts and as an introduction to adjectival agreement:

There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag or black wave, so 38 posters in total. Laminate the posters if possible, or print on card stock, particularly if you’re going to use them as flashcards to introduce and practice language too: they’ll hang really nicely, stay in good shape, and you’ll be able to use your colors posters for many years to come!
