Description

This series of visualizing and verbalizing activities is designed to help students break the reading language process apart and practice reading for meaning. This product, STEP 2: Verbalizing from Memory is the second in a four step series of the Verbalizing Picture and Visualizing Text Reading/Language Comprehension Intervention System. However, each step in the series can be used as a standalone set of activities.

COMPLETE INTERVENTION SERIES:

STEP 1: Verbalizing Pictures

STEP 2: Verbalizing from Memory

STEP 3: Single Sentence Imagery

STEP 4: Multiple Sentence Imagery (Volume 1 and 2)

STEP 2: Verbalizing from Memory includes everything you need to begin building your students' reading and language comprehension through practice that connects a single word to a matching picture. The word and coordinating picture are shared with the student for a brief period of time. The picture is removed and the student makes an image of the picture in their mind. The teacher prompts the student to share details of the picture they "see" in their head. Finally, both the student and teacher view the picture together and discuss.
