Description

Texas History students will learn about the early inhabitants of Texas with a 10 slide presentation, graphic organizer, and stations/centers activity. The power point has discussion questions and introduces the Caddo, Karankawa, Coahuiltecan, and Atakapa Native American tribes. The graphic organizer accompanies the PowerPoint and has 3 questions.

The stations activity introduces the Plains and Puebloan tribes (the Jornada, Tiguia, Jumano, Tonkawa, Apache, Comanche, and Kiowa) with 3 brief readings and 22 questions. To go with those 3 stations there are 7 images which can be used as a 4th station (instructions and ideas for implementation are included) and a map for students to complete.

The presentation is included as a PowerPoint and PDF for your convenience. A teacher information page and the answers are included where appropriate. See the preview for a closer look!
