This mini lesson on the early inhabitants of Texas is a 10 slide PowerPoint, graphic organizer, and stations/centers activity. The PowerPoint has discussion questions and introduces the Caddo, Karankawa, Coahuiltecan, and Atakapa Native American tribes. The graphic organizer accompanies the power point and has 3 questions.
The stations activity introduces the Plains and Puebloan tribes (the Jornada, Tiguia, Jumano, Tonkawa, Apache, Comanche, and Kiowa) with 3 brief readings and 22 questions. To go with those 3 stations there are 7 images which can be used as a 4th station (instructions and ideas for implementation are included) and a map for students to complete.
The file includes the presentation in PowerPoint, pdf, and keynote for your convenience, a teacher information page, and an answer key where appropriate.
