Check Your Receipts: A ‘Using Percentages’ Activity/Station

Do you find that students struggle when working with percentages? My students respond to percentage better when I use real world examples and money, hence this product. Students need to select the incorrect calculation based on doing a calculation with percentage from 4 options for a given receipt. Have students use some kind of clip, like mini binder clip, paper clip, clothes pin, etc. to mark their answers. I recommend laminating these cards. You could have students use a dry erase marker on these if they are laminated. 

This can be set up as a station or small group activity. You can either print the answer key out or display it on your board. 

This activity includes:

• 15 cards in color 
• A key for the activity

 The key includes several grading scales in case you decide not to use all of the cards. 

I usually include an answer sheet but decided not to for this product as I didn’t know if you would have time in your class to use all of the cards. Students can always write their answers on a sheet of paper if you wish.
