Description

Students will read excerpts from Madison's Federalist No. 51 of the Federalist Papers, answer 13 questions, and complete 2 creative tasks. They will also define 9 vocabulary terms and either summarize segments of the text or identify main points. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--Explain what set the judicial branch apart from the other two.
--Explain the “great difficulty” referenced at the end of the first page.
--In what way(s) was the government controlled by its dependence on the people?
--How would you classify/describe the reference to anarchy in this context? Explain why.
--Explain the argument about the larger the society, the more capable it is of self-government. Do you agree, why or why not?
