Description
Students will read and analyze FDR's Four Freedoms Speech from 1941 by answering 25 questions (a mix of academic, opinion, and creative tasks). The speech has been modified to fit on one piece of paper front and back. The answers are included where appropriate and this would work for a sub!
Sample questions include:
--Explain the role played by propaganda in the threat(s) against democracy.
--Identify what America’s focus must be at this point, and was that justified?
--Inferring from prior knowledge, give 2 examples of the “aggressors” and 2 examples of the “appeasers.” How do you think those examples would have responded to being labeled as such?
--Inferring from the text, under what circumstances can enduring peace exist?
--Is a neutral country providing such aid to those involved in the war an act of war? Why or why not?
--With what specifically is FDR asking Americans to sacrifice? How would that help American allies, and potentially America, in the war effort?
--How has America’s “perpetual revolution” been one of peace?
