A New Twist on Teaching the Fruit of the Spirit

This Fruit of the Spirit Lapbook provides a fun way to teach kids about the Fruit of the Spirit as they study Galatians 5:22-23.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

The front page of this interactive Fruit of the Spirit notebook contains puzzle pieces where the students have to match up a fruit of the spirit with its definition. For example, "joy" goes with "feeling of great happiness." "Kindness" would be matched up to "being friendly and nice."

On the inside of the lapbook, students will unscramble words to reveal a fruit of the spirit and write it down on the inside flaps. Two additional foldables have the children identify ways they can be kind to one another and ways to demonstrate self-control.

Finally, children are given 8 different scenarios. Each one contains a real life example of when the fruit of the spirit could be demonstrated. The child will lift the flap and choose between two choices. For example, one flap says "You invite a friend to church because you love God so much. You know He can do anything." The student will then lift the flap and choose between "faith" and "patience". The correct answer would be faith.

This Fruit of the Spirit lapbook would be a good addition to any unit or Sunday School lesson on the Fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23.
