OVERVIEW
This cloze song activity is a great tool to help students improve their active listening skills in a fun, competitive way. Students immerse themselves in the target language by listening to Spanish songs and filling in the missing lyrics. The supplementary LyricsTraining activity is scored as they compete with friends, people in their country, and players around the world. **Internet access required.**

Instructions are also included for customizing the LyricsTraining online cloze activity. Make a MASTER COPY of any material you download or purchase, in case you would like to modify the files for different classes or levels. **Tasks can be broken up to complete in different class periods**

HOW TO USE THIS IN YOUR CLASSROOM

Teacher will...

begin with the Google Slides lesson presentation to introduce students to the artist, cloze activities, song information, and share strategies for active listening
have students complete the Google Docs cloze activity to identify the words in the song and compare it to the English version(s)
depending on how soon the class finishes the Google Docs task, you may assign the LyricsTraining activity to practice random words, or you may assign it as homework
have students answer comprehension questions to demonstrate understanding of authentic text
