Description

Are you looking for a fun US History Review Game? In this review game, students stack cups labeled with the titles of the the eras of American History -1877 - present (you print the labels out from this power point and tape them on the cups) to race! Students will see an image (from this power point), then they quickly discuss in groups what the image is and what era of U.S. History it belongs to. Then you say "go" and they stack cups in towers with the answer on top. There is no "correct" way to stack the cups - let the students be creative!

Eras included (but you may edit the titles of the eras to fit your needs)

EVERYTHING IS EDITABLE! I've left this in power point!

  • Westward Expansion
  • Gilded Age
  • Progressive Era
  • Imperialism
  • WWI
  • Roaring 20s
  • Great Depression
  • WWII
  • Cold War
  • Civil Rights
  • Modern Era

What is included:

  • power point with 45 slides (images - answers "fly" in on power point)
  • Era labels for cups - you print from slide 3 (editable)
  • Teacher instructions

Teacher Notes:

  • All you need is the cups and tape. Just print those out and tape them, then use this power point to review!

How many cups to do you need?

  • 11 cups per group of students. So if you have 30 kids in your class, I would put kids in groups of 3 or 4. So 11 cups x 7 groups - 77 cups. I would get more just in case a cup cracks etc. The Dollar Store often has cups.
  • I also suggest you get at least 2 colors of cups. This allows you to stack the cups in your cabinet in alternate colors.
  • You also need tape. I used clear packing tape.

Teacher Feedback:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lindsay B. says, "My kids LOVED this game, and the images used are AWESOME for EOC review and lead into some great review discussions! Such an awesome resource."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Historywithmrsc says, "Great review! Especially helpful for students who struggle with chronology and understanding the "big picture" of U.S. History!"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kaytlynn M. says, "My students LOVED this review game! Thanks!"

Enjoy! My kids had a blast with this game!

I've left this in power point so you may edit as you wish!
