Adding & Subtracting Positive and Negative Decimals Puzzled to Pieces Self-Checking Puzzle Activity for Google Sheets

Looking for a new and engaging way for your students to practice adding and subtracting positive and negative decimals (rational numbers)? Math is fun again with this self-checking digital add and subtract positive and negative decimals Puzzled to Pieces Halloween Activity for Google Sheets! This 12-question middle school math activity is perfect for engaging your students in adding and subtracting decimals. I hope your students have as much fun with this activity as mine did!

➡️ Here is how it works:

In this self-checking activity, students answer questions as they attempt to collect and piece together the mystery puzzle.  As questions are answered correctly, students collect puzzle pieces.  Once the students have answered all the required questions, they then get to piece together the puzzle and reveal the mystery picture.  Can your students piece together the mystery picture or will they remain puzzled to pieces? The students answer the questions in any order they prefer.  After solving the question on a whiteboard, scratch paper, or the provided workspace, students type their final answer into the appropriate cell.  If correct, the students receive immediate feedback as they collect puzzle pieces and by revealing a star next to their answer. In contrast, when students answer incorrectly, their answer turns red and an “X” appears to let them know they should go back and revise their answer or seek help from the instructor.
