Description

Welcome! There are thirty-two vocabulary terms competing in this tournament bracket challenge with a prevailing theme of cellular transport. Students will follow the directions to determine the winning term of the pairings for each round until the tournament winner is identified.

The directions are as follows.
  • Round one winners are physiological processes in a cell.
  • Round two winners are forms of cellular transport.
  • Round three winners are forms of active transport.
  • The semi-finalists are examples of endocytosis.
  • The tournament champion will emerge following the criteria

This activity comes with a key with the answers in bright red font. I also included a two-page guide that features a brief description for all thirty-two vocabulary terms participating in the tournament as a supplemental resource.

I also included a second smaller tournament bracket with blank lines and directions that offers students a chance to accurately create a cell-themed vocabulary tournament!

I assign this activity in my high school biology class.

I also offer a tournament bracket challenge activity for vertebrates, invertebrates, microbes (Protists, fungi, bacteria, & viruses), and quantitative vocabulary terms.

This PDF file will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Program.
