Students will use these resources to learn about, or review, European revolutions in 1830 and 1848 (France, Austria-Hungary, Germany, Italy, Balkan Peninsula, Poland, Hungary, etc), the unification of Germany and Italy, Latin American independence movements (including but not limited to Simon Bolivar, Fr. Miguel Hidalgo, Toussaint L'Ouverture, Haiti becomes a republic, Gran Colombia forms, United Provinces of Central America split, and much more), the struggles of France under and after Napoleon III, Great Britain's democratic reforms during the Victorian Era, and the rise of nationalism in Russia and Eastern Europe.
