Description

Coloring is a mindful, calming practice and these 57 mindful coloring worksheets are paired with positive affirmations which are perfect to include in a comfort kit, grief box, or calm corner.

Coloring has been proven to have positive effects in people including “anxiety reduction and…higher perseverance."* These counseling coloring worksheets are ideal to share with someone who is grieving or experiencing a loss, has experienced a trauma or something difficult, or would benefit from working on positive thinking or self-esteem.

This resource will help you start discussions around helpful thoughts, positive thinking, affirmations, resiliency, self-esteem, and positive self-talk. Be sure to encourage the children to be creative and color the pictures however they want to! Remind them that there are no right or wrong ways to color because the special worksheet belongs to them.

These worksheets can be paired with colored pencils or crayons, which are both resistive or dry media and so they allow for “cognitive control and safety.”** This dry media also elicits “feelings of control” which “can decrease feelings of anxiety early in the therapeutic relationship."***

Social-emotional competencies addressed include self-awareness and self-management.

This resource comes in PDF format. Check out the video preview with music by bensound.com.
