Description

Students complete an interview activity to review Dwight Eisenhower's presidency. They first answer 5 history based questions, then they "interview" Eisenhower after becoming president (5 questions and answers), and then they conduct Ike's last interview on his deathbed (6 questions and answers). The last task is a bonus creative opportunity. An answer key is included where appropriate. This would work for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--Through the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956, Eisenhower authorized the Interstate Highway System. Explain what it was and then discuss whether or not you think that should be one of the items he is most remembered for.
--Summarize the relationship between Eisenhower’s presidency and the Civil Rights movement. Make sure in your answer you identify at least 3 specific events, laws, court cases, people, and/or ideologies that played a role in these 8 years of the Civil Rights movement and Eisenhower’s handling of them/relationship to them.
--What do you think will be your biggest challenge in achieving your goals?
--What would you like your legacy to be?
--Do you have any regrets from your time in office?
