READING WITH PATRICIA POLACCO BOOKS: AN AUTHOR STUDY
Description
Patricia Polacco has a flair for writing children’s books that are real life as they are versions of her own life story. For example, “Thank You, Mr. Falker” depicts her own struggles as a reader and how she overcame them. It is a heartwarming story of a teacher who impacted her life. Another tender book is “My Rotten Red Headed Older Brother” which is a story that students can relate to and laugh about when thinking about their own families.
Patricia Polacco’s books can reach all elementary grade levels and still be enjoyed by upper grade students.
