The Civil War in Texas PowerPoint or Gallery Walk

Texas History students will learn about the people and events of the Civil War with this PowerPoint overview. There are 33 slides, a 21 question note guide (the answers are included where appropriate), and a teacher information page in case you want to use this as a gallery walk.  

Sample questions include: 
--Why did Lincoln's election make Southern leaders believe their lifestyle and practice of slavery was threatened?
--What were a man’s options if he was conscripted for the Confederacy but did not support its cause?
--Draw a picture illustrating a key Union strategy. What else could it have been referred to besides the Anaconda Plan?
--Identify a similarity and a difference between the Battles of Galveston, Sabine Pass, and Brownsville.
--Put the following events in chronological order (1 being the earliest, 10 being the latest).
