Description

Students will learn about the Red Ball Express from WW2 (WWII) and its contributions to the war effort from D-Day through the end of 1944. This resource includes a 10 slide powerpoint (also included as a PDF) and a 10 question note guide with 3 creative tasks. This would be great for a unit on minorities during WW2, untold stories of WW2, or Black History Month. The answers are included where appropriate!

Sample questions include:
--What were three characteristics of the soldiers who served in the Red Ball Express?
--Explain the meaning, or relevance of the statement, “Let it never be said that a lack of supplies stopped Patton when the Germans couldn’t.”
--How did this effort reflect Americanism at the time?
--Explain how this relates to the Double V that African Americans were fighting for.
