Decline and Fall of the Old Kingdom Simulation - Egypt - Kush

Bring history to life by having students work to together to keep their empire from declining and falling. Students will read passages on the decline of the Old, Middle, New and Kush Kingdoms. They will then experience forces that have brought down one of these kingdom (Old Kingdom) in a simulation. They will work together and against each other, battle invaders by playing Rock, Paper, Scissors, suffer the impacts of diseases or natural climate change by rolling dice and more. By the end, students will identify which kingdom's decline the class simulated. Finally, students will gain an understanding of how often times, the forces contributing to an empire's decline were outside of their control.
