Description

  • Are you looking for a quick way to cover the Presidency of George W. Bush? By the time I get to Bush, I am RACING to finish before our state test. I struggled to find something engaging - then I finally came up with this activity that students LOVE! This is a GREAT activity that I use to cover Bush in 1 class period. Students love it when I add my 2000s playlist as background music. It's a print and go activity!

PLEASE NOTE! This was created because I needed to teach the Presidency of George W. Bush in 1 day. It is not an in-depth activity! It covers the basics and allows students to show their creativity.

  • Students will read short summaries of 5 key events in the Presidency of George W. Bush (included in this purchase). These events are listed below. Students will then create a visual summary inside the bubble letters and then write a summary in their own words in the boxes. I told my students that I should be able to tell that they understand the event by simply looking at their letters!

While students were working, I played my Spotify 2000s playlist and they loved every minute of it! Class "Sing Alongs" are encouraged with this activity!

What is included?

  • Instructions for the teacher
  • Summaries of each of the 5 events (see below)
  • W. BUSH blank page for students to write on (See images)

-Summaries of the following events:

  • Election of 2000 - Bush v. Gore
  • 9/11 Attacks, Department of Homeland Security and USA Patriot Act
  • War on Terror
  • No Child Left Behind
  • Hurricane Katrina

This activity is based on the Texas TEKS. If you need to swap out an event to fit your standards, of course you can.
