This 45-60 minute lesson plan helps students answer or accomplish the following:
• Describe the role of the mass media on US social culture.
• How did the mass media effect the civil rights movement?
• Explain how the television effected the development of American culture.
This lesson provides teachers with a warm-up activity, class activity, lesson extension, handouts, and project ideas.
Students will participate in a classroom discussion in which they will view several pictures related to mass media.
