PLANET PREAMBLE! A Preamble and 6 reasons for government simulation activity!

Planet Preamble is a fun engaging simulation that has students crash land on an alien planet. They answer 4 key questions that will guide them in the right direction to thinking about the 6 purposes for a new government outlined in the preamble to the constitution. We discuss as a whole class and then they fill in notes that have been "translated into middle school words" by the "alien race the founding fathers!"

Its a fun, silly and simple way to make the preamble even more meaningful! Its a great follow up lesson to throwing out the articles of confederation! This lesson includes everything the teacher needs. It is print and go ready! BUT IF YOU WANT TO STEP IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL- pair it with a space themed room transformation and a little alien costume! Your kids will love this activity! I paired it with the school house rock preamble song (I have them memorize for a grade) and this helps them understand the WHY behind the preamble. It gives meaning to those high level vocabulary words and makes it all student friendly.
