Black History Month Research Project

This is a weeklong cross-curricular project that I usually do with the ELA department. After my introduction to Black History Month lesson, The students have one period to explore and select a topic from the Student Link Homepage. The student link homepage has over 30 topics to pick from each with a unique research page. I then assign the Note Graphic Organizer and the Student Essay Organizer on Google Classroom. The students have a day to complete the Note Graphic Organizer. The Student Essay Organizer usually takes two days. The project comes with a student checklist and a grading rubric! Then we complete the student posters to hang around the school for our Black History Month Parent Night!
