Causes and Effects of the Reformation TRTW Activity

This product is a great teaching strategy to have students learn about the causes and effects of the Reformation with a focus on the role of Humanism. The product includes a copy of the reading and a PowerPoint to guide you and the students through the TRTW (Talk, Read, Talk, Write) Strategy. The PowerPoint also includes a Warm-Up! For my fellow Texas Teachers this Activity covers TEKS 5B, 22C and 24C

How this activity works:

Students will begin with analyzing a quote for the warm-up. Then they will start by analyzing a painting to see how Humanism is present in the Reformation. Next they will read the article. After reading the article students will talk about what they read to gain a fuller understanding. Finally the students will write a paragraph on a question based off what they have learned.

I love this activity. The activity engages students and works well with all levels of students.

The product is a ZIP file and includes both a Word Doc (the article) and student worksheet to guide the TRTW process and the PowerPoint.
