This is a DIGITAL Reading Log (Emoji themed) where students record their thinking during independent reading time (school/home) on digital sticky notes. After four logs, students have a reflection task to complete. Students can complete four logs Monday through Thursday, and on Friday complete a reflection where they expand their ideas from one of their logs. The log is a great way to monitor progress as it is easy to assign in Google Classroom.
Another way this can work is students select four of their most prized paper sticky notes for the week and transfer them to their digital journals. This makes them look back at their thinking and determine which they think reflect their most thoughtful work.
