Discussion Based Writing Unit - The Most Influential Early U.S. President?

This is a discussion based writing unit discussing who was the most influential US President in the 1700s and 1800s. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. 

The first lesson involves students retrieving facts from informational texts about George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln, and writing these on to an included fact sheet. In the second lesson students need to use these facts to write three to four paragraphs about the individual presidents. In the third lesson students need to use prompt sheets to write up an introduction and a conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on a neat copy using the template provided.
