Dragons Love Tacos 1 and 2: Taco Writing

Dragons Love Tacos is an adorable story of a boy who wants to have a taco party for dragons. I used this book for some engaging writing activities with my students. We had an author's party with our Tres Tacos writing. Students wrote to persuade someone to come to their taco party, to inform how to make a taco, and to entertain. You can easily walk your students through the writing process with brainstorming worksheets, instructional posters, and editing practice. Then, students write their final drafts on a taco shaped sheet with a paper taco shell.

• purchasing items for a taco party activity
• planting a __ to grow into a tree
• taco party invitation
• display posters for each type of PIE writing
• vocabulary/spelling word strips

We invited parents to come listen to us read our tacos at an author's party.
