Geometry - Alberta Grade 5 Math

Geometry contains three lessons created to align with geometry in the new Alberta Grade 5 curriculum. Each lesson begins with instructions and examples to introduce new concepts. After that, the teacher does a few practice questions with the class. At this point, students are ready to do questions on their own. Each lesson ends with an optional challenge question. Answer keys are included.

Problem solving is also incorporated into this unit with the inclusion of a digital problem related to rotational geometry. Project this for your students and allow a few minutes for them to try to solve the problem on their own. Then work through an additional slide that explains in an interactive step-by-step process some strategies that could be used to find a solution.

A quiz to assess student learning is included at the end of the unit.
