Description

Greetings! This full-page fill-in-the-blank activity about magnetic Earth is for middle school science students. It features four sections with independent word banks. The first section covers compasses. The second one focuses on magnetic declination and evidence of a changing field. The third section highlights the magnetosphere, the Van Allen belts, and the solar wind. The last paragraph has an aurora theme.

Once your students have placed all 44 vocabulary terms in their rightful spots, they'll have a valuable summative study guide for the unit. This PDF file can be easily edited when converted to Microsoft Word using Adobe Acrobat. And don't worry. There's a full-page key with the answers in bold, red font.

I appreciate your interest. This lesson complements several other magnetic Earth–themed activities I published. I have nearly thirty years of teaching experience and have published educational products since 2002. I am confident this resource will serve you and your students well for years!
