Description
Students will read and analyze excerpts from President Ronald Reagan's First Inaugural Address by answering 20 questions and completing an extension task. This would be great for a sub and the answers are included where appropriate.
Sample questions include:
--Give an example from the historical context of the “affliction” referenced.
--Identify the main point of the 4th paragraph.
--Explain the role he sees government as having.
--What is his first priority and how will he tackle it?
--What might have been the intention of his final line?
--What was the most presidential part of this address and why?
--Describe the tone this set for Reagan’s presidency.
--If you could write your own title for this address, what would you choose and why?
